CV, UXGA, Audio, RS232 & IR extenders carry all these signals by means of a CAT5 cable with a 'Point to Point'connection.

The extender kit, also called 'Transceiver', is composed of 2 devices, a transmitter and a receiver.

A wide choice of arrangements is also available, depending on the signals type that need to be carried.

All receivers allow to compensate the CAT5 cable losses, to obtain the best possible matching input-output signal. Available lengths for CAT5 cable range from 100m to 500m.


02 - UXGA Multipoint Transmitters
   ·  Point to Multipoint CAT5 Transmitters

UXGA Multipoint transmitters are used when we want to send a source signal to several outputs arranged in a star-shaped way.

Each of the outputs will be provided with a receiver.

The receiver will be chosen according to cable lenght (max. 500m).

Three kinds of transmitters are available with 4, 8 or 16 outputs on CAT5.


03 - Matrix with CAT5 output

   ·  Supermatrix - UXGA+Audio+RS232+IR over CAT5
   ·  SmartNet-V - CV+Audio+IR over CAT5 Matrix

CAT5 Output Matrix have been designed to connect outputs through a CAT5 cable.

Each of the outputs will be provided with a receiver.

The receiver will be chosen according to the signals to be carried and cable length (max. 500m). The Matrix will accept the input signals straight from the sources, either video (SAT, DVD Player, camera) or multimedia (PC).

Typical formats are 8x8, 16X8 e 16x16.

There are 3 kinds of Matrix:

- The SNV series, or SmartNet-V are designed for CV (composit), Audio and IR signals.

- The SMX-AV series, or Supermatrix, which carries UXGA & Audio signals.

- The SMX-AVD series or Supermatrix, which carries UXGA, Audio, RS232 & IR signals.


04 - CATSwitch Matrix with CAT5 I/O

CAT5 Input+Output Matrix have been designed to connect inputs and outputs through a CAT5 cable.

Sources are interfaced with a CAT5 transmitter while destinations are attended by a receiver.

Typical formats are 8x8, 16X8 e 16x16.

There are 2 kinds of Matrix:

- The CSW series is designed for UXGA & Audio signals conversion.

- The CSWP (more complete), which carries UXGA, Audio, RS232 & IR.

At a peripheral level, each transmitter is connected with a PC or another multimedia source, while each receiver is connected to one output (monitor or videoprojector).

Transmitters and receivers are chosen according to carried signals and CAT5 cable length in the system.


05 - DVI-D, RS232 and KVM Extender

   ·  DVI, KVM (PS2) and Audio CAT6 Extender

The DVI-D signal, if no repeater or other amplification devices are present, cannot be carried for more than 15m. of cable.

Through CAT5 Transceivers the signal can be carried up to 75m. Four types of transceiver are available for DVI-D signals.

Moreover, according to system type, also Audio & RS232 or KVM (Keyboard, video, mouse with both PS2 or USB connectors) set of signals can be carried. It is required aN STP CAT6 cable with shielded cable.


06 - HDMI Extender
   ·  HDMI and IR CAT6 Extender

The HDMI signal, if no repeater or other amplification devices are present, cannot be carried for more than 15m. of cable.

The Smart-AVI transceiver for HDMI signals allow to carry the HDMI signal up to 75m without appreciable quality loss. It is required an STP CAT6 cable with shielded cable, and each transceiver requires the use of 2 cables.


07 - Fiber Optics solutions

Fiber Optics is the only alternative when distances that need to be covered are more than cables allow or when we need to cross an ambiance that is especially infected from the electrical noise.

Transceivers multimode are offered (2 fibers, short distances). Travelling signals may be XVGA (Analog PC graphic), DVI-D (digital PC graphic) and HDMI (digital with Audio, typical for DVD players).

Moreover, depending of the models, are supported the KVM (Keyboard, video, mouse) with PS2 connectors, the stereo Audio, the RS232 and the IR.

Distances may vary from 360 to 420m.


08 - Accessories

The Accessories family includes an IR receiver and emitter that may be connected to transceivers which carry the IR signal to the remote controls.

Typically the IR receiver is connected to the CAT5 receiver which provides the destination signal, while the IR emitter is connected to the transmitter, usually close to the source at which the IR emitter will be oriented. In this way the user, placed close to the destination, will be able to send commands to the source with the IR remote control through the CAT5 cable.

A CAT5 receiver is included in the accessories that may be mounted after the Smartnet-V matrix which have CAT5 output and CV, Audio & IR input.
